The rules for using RemoteVetted, whether you're a business hiring through us or a professional applying with us. We've written them to be read: short sections, plain words.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
RemoteVetted is a trade name of Lemon Qube LLC, a Delaware limited liability company at 2810 North Church Street, Wilmington, DE 19802, USA (“RemoteVetted”, “we”, “us”). We are a recruiting firm: we search for, vet and present remote professionals to businesses that want to hire them.
These terms apply to everyone who uses remotevetted.com, jobs.remotevetted.com, our client and candidate portals, booking pages and emails (together, the “Services”): businesses that hire through us (“Clients”), professionals who apply with us (“Professionals” or “Candidates”), and visitors. By using the Services you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the Services for a business, you confirm you can bind that business.
A Client's signed placement agreement (and any order, quote or invoice that refers to it) adds to these terms. If they conflict, the signed agreement wins for that hire.
2. Our role: recruiting, not employment
We find and vet Professionals and introduce them to Clients. We are not the employer of any Professional, we do not run payroll for them, and we are not an employment agency that supplies staff under our own contract. When a Client hires a Professional, the working relationship (role, hours, pay, tools, termination) is between the Client and the Professional directly, usually as an independent-contractor arrangement the two of them agree.
The Client pays the Professional directly, at the rate they agree; any rate range we share is a guide only. We do not take a share of the Professional's pay. Each party is responsible for its own taxes, legal classification, contracts and compliance in its country.
We vet carefully (our interview, references, background check and skills assessment), but we can't guarantee how any person will perform. Clients make the final hiring decision and are responsible for it.
3. Accounts and access
Portals are by invitation. We create your account and send you a link; you sign in with a one-time code sent to your email (or, for our team, a company Google account). Keep access to your email secure: anyone who can read it can sign in as you. Tell us right away at support@remotevetted.com if you think someone else has accessed your account.
Give us accurate information and keep it up to date. We may suspend or close access that is misused, inaccurate or no longer needed.
4. For businesses: how hiring through us works
Consultation
Your first consultation is free and without obligation.
Search deposit
To start a search we ask for a small search deposit, shown in your quote. It is credited in full toward your placement fee when you hire. If we don't present at least three qualified finalists within five business days after you approve the job description, you may ask for the deposit back and we will refund it. Otherwise the deposit is non-refundable if you cancel the search, but it stays credited to a future hire with us for 12 months.
The search
We agree the job description with you, search, and interview candidates ourselves. You meet the finalists (identified by first name and last initial) on an interview day, then tell us who you choose.
Placement fee
The placement fee is due only after you choose a Professional. It is a one-time fee for that hire, set out in your quote and placement agreement, with any discount that applies shown as its own line. Fees are in US dollars and exclude any sales or similar taxes, which are added where the law requires.
You can pay the fee in full, or in monthly installments where offered. Installment plans cost more in total (the plan total is shown before you agree), start with a first payment, and are charged automatically to the card you save. You may pay off the remaining balance early, with the early-payoff discount shown at the time. If an installment fails we will retry and contact you; a plan that stays overdue may suspend the guarantee and the balance becomes due.
When you pay the search deposit, your card is saved securely with Stripe as your card on file. We charge it again only for the placement fee, or a payment plan's installments, that you choose and approve (on the “Complete your hire” page or with your hiring manager on the phone). You can ask us to remove it at any time.
Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. The chosen Professional's full name and contact details are shared with you once the placement agreement is signed and the fee (or the first installment) is paid.
Electronic signatures
You agree that documents can be signed electronically and that electronic signatures and records are as valid as paper ones.
5. The 12-month guarantee
Each placement comes with a guarantee for 12 months from the Professional's start date. If, during that time, the Professional leaves or doesn't work out for a covered reason, we will run a replacement search at no additional placement fee.
Covered: the Professional resigns; performance doesn't meet the agreed expectations; the Professional stops showing up or becomes unreachable; communication or English issues.
Not covered: your business downsizes, closes the role or substantially changes it; you end the arrangement for reasons unrelated to the Professional.
The guarantee covers one replacement per placement, requires your payments to be current, and must be requested before the 12 months end. The replacement is covered by the original agreement and keeps the original guarantee end date unless we agree otherwise in writing. Our check-ins on days 7, 30, 60 and 90 help us catch issues early.
6. Hiring candidates we introduce
Our fee is how we are paid for finding and vetting people. If you (or a company you control or are part of) hire, engage or contract a Professional we presented to you, directly or through someone else, within 12 months of the presentation, without going through us, the full placement fee for that role is due, as if the hire had been made through us. This also applies if you refer the Professional to another business that hires them within that period.
7. For professionals
It's free. We never charge Professionals to apply, to be presented or to be hired. Anyone asking you for money in our name is not us; please report it to careers@remotevetted.com.
Be accurate. Your application, résumé, recordings and assessment answers must be your own and true. We may remove applications that aren't.
Your recordings and profile. With your consent we share your voice and video introductions and your profile (first name and last initial, never your contact details) with businesses we consider you for. Appearing on our public website is optional and only with your separate consent, which you can withdraw at any time in your portal.
No promise of work. Applying, passing our vetting or being presented doesn't guarantee a job. Clients decide who they hire.
Working with a client. If hired, your arrangement and pay are agreed directly with the client. Please keep us informed during the first months so our check-ins and guarantee can help both of you.
8. Referral rewards
Clients and Professionals can share referral links. Rewards are earned only as described in your portal (for a business: when it is new to us and pays its first placement fee; for a professional: when they are placed and still working after the stated period), once per referred business or person, and never for referring yourself or an existing contact. We pay rewards by bank or money transfer after they qualify. You are responsible for any taxes on rewards. We may refuse or reverse rewards obtained through misuse, and we may change or end the program for future referrals at any time.
Referral partners (for example accountants, agencies and consultants) earn commissions under their own written partner agreement with us and the terms shown in their partner portal; where those conflict with this section, the partner agreement wins.
9. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the Services. In particular, don't: break the law or anyone's rights; upload malware or content you don't have the right to share; try to get into accounts or data that aren't yours; scrape, overload or reverse-engineer the Services; impersonate anyone; or use what you learn about a Candidate for anything other than evaluating them for your role.
10. Content and intellectual property
The Services, our website, brand and materials belong to us or our licensors. You keep ownership of what you upload (for example a résumé, recordings, photos or job details) and give us a license to host, process and share it as needed to provide the Services and as described in our Privacy Policy. You may not copy or resell our materials, including candidate profiles, without our written permission.
11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Apart from the guarantee above and anything we commit to in writing, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we don't warrant the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (for Professionals, to US$100). We are not responsible for the acts, work or omissions of Clients or Professionals toward each other.
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the Services, your breach of these terms, or your working relationship with a Client or Professional.
12. Ending your use
You can stop using the Services at any time. Clients remain responsible for fees already due, for installment plans already agreed, and for the hiring commitment in section 6. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken or to protect other users. Sections that by their nature should survive (fees, the hiring commitment, intellectual property, liability, governing law) continue after your use ends.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before starting any formal claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it within 30 days. Any dispute that isn't resolved informally will be heard by the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. Nothing here removes rights you have under the mandatory consumer or data-protection laws of your country.
14. Changes and contact
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will let active Clients and Professionals know by email or in their portal before it takes effect; the date above shows the latest version. Placement agreements already signed keep their own terms.
